its a simple matter IMHO of life being too easy, comfortable, predictable for a large portion of the population. When I was in NYC in August 2022 with a nephew (age 26 keep in mind), I was blown away by his lack of physical stamina. The stairs at the various subway terminals simply wore him out. He was laboring like no one's business just walking around. I get that it is humid in NYC where it is not in Boise but that is not going to impact one that much.
